So, something rather amazing happened to me yesterday.
About a month ago, I entered a writing competition in Ireland's biggest music magazine, Hot Press. After hearing nothing back from them, I assumed that I hadn't won. Then, yesterday I got an email to say that my entry had been shortlisted as a Top Ten finalist in my category. The overall prize is a two-week internship with Hot Press. This means the absolute world to me. Writing is what I love to do, and it's the one thing that I feel that I am good at.
Being shortlisted for this competition has given me so much confidence and self-belief in my writing ability, and I am so grateful to have been given an opportunity like this.
